You can optionally add a hero image on any page or post by adding a Featured image in the page settings. Ideally images should be 2000 x 500px for the header. This aspect ratio works better for images that are more abstract or pattern-like. The hero layout for pages / posts can be changed under Appearance > Customize > Hero.
If you would like an image overlay without the red overlay, do the following:
- Go to the Page Settings > Customizations > Disable Page Title/Hero Area > toggle to Yes
- Add a Cover Block at the top of your page with a Heading 1 for the page title. Make sure to ensure there is enough contrast between the text and the image background. A simple way to do this is copy and paste the already pre-configured Cover block on one of the hero home page variations, which ensures a text backplate that has enough contrast behind the text.
